Pensions to rise by at least 3.48%. Here is what that means in złoty
Poland's draft budget for 2027 assumes pensions and benefits will be indexed by at least 3.48%. The minimum pension will rise by about 69 zł to around 2,047 zł gross.
That is the rate the government has written into next year's draft budget. The final figure could be higher; it will be known in early 2027, once inflation and wage data for the whole of 2026 are in.
What it means in złoty
Indexation is a percentage, so the higher the benefit, the bigger the rise. At 3.48%, a pension of 2,500 zł gross goes up by 87 zł, 3,000 zł by 104.40 zł, 4,000 zł by 139.20 zł and 5,000 zł by 174 zł.
The minimum pension, currently 1,978.49 zł, will rise by about 69 zł to around 2,047 zł gross. The average pension is forecast at about 4,707 zł.
Where 3.48% comes from
The indexation rate is inflation for pensioner households plus at least 20% of real wage growth in the previous year. The government's draft assumes the statutory minimum of 20%. If inflation or wages in 2026 turn out higher than forecast, indexation will be higher too.
Less will reach your account
All the amounts above are gross. Health insurance contributions are deducted from pensions, and for higher benefits income tax as well, so less will be paid into your account.
