Ubisoft shuts down Rainbow Six Mobile. Servers go offline on 15 January 2027
Rainbow Six Mobile will shut down on 15 January 2027 after 15 seasons, less than two years after its global launch.
Ubisoft is shutting down Rainbow Six Mobile, the free-to-play smartphone version of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six tactical shooter. The servers will go offline on 15 January 2027 after 15 seasons, less than two years after the global launch.
The game brought Rainbow Six Siege-style play to phones: a team of attackers and a team of defenders fight over a building, and each player picks an operator with their own gadget. Content arrived in seasons with new operators, maps and events.
What happens to the team
The game was developed by Ubisoft Halifax. The developers said the team will move on to "other long-term strategic projects" at Ubisoft.
Another live-service game closes
It is not the first decision of this kind. Ubisoft previously shut down the online shooter XDefiant, which ran for an even shorter time, and cancelled several other live-service games before launch.
How long you can play
Rainbow Six Mobile remains playable until 15 January 2027. The source does not say what will happen to in-game purchases.
