Polish tax office to drop small debts under 80 zł

The finance ministry wants tax offices to stop opening proceedings over amounts below 80 zł, as part of a wider package of changes.

  • Taxpayers would get 30 days to appeal instead of 14.
  • Penalties would be lower for arrears that taxpayers disclose themselves.
  • Tax offices would have to inform taxpayers when an inspection starts and ends.

  • The draft amendment to the Tax Ordinance is due to go to the government in Q1 2027.

  • The cap on petrol rises by 7–8 groszy a litre, while diesel falls by 2 groszy.

  • The energy minister sets maximum prices for each day. The CPN package runs until 31 December 2026.
