Pietuszewski gives Porto victory over Marítimo, with an assist from Kiwior

18-year-old Oskar Pietuszewski scored the winner for FC Porto against Marítimo (2–1). Jakub Kiwior provided the pass and Jan Bednarek played the full match. Porto have won every league game this season.

Marítimo led through Szalai's goal in the 16th minute, and Froholdt equalised in the 42nd. Pietuszewski came on in the 79th minute for Pepe. Late on he received a pass from Jakub Kiwior and scored to make it 2–1. Sources differ on the minute of the goal: Polsat Sport says 86, WP SportoweFakty 84.

Goal given after VAR

The referee initially ruled the goal out for offside. VAR showed the Pole was onside by about one centimetre, and the goal stood. Jan Bednarek played the full match in Porto's defence. Porto have won all eight of their league games this season.

"A Polish bond"

"I saw that Kiwior wanted to pass me the ball," Pietuszewski said after the game. "It's our Polish bond and I'm very happy," added the 18-year-old, who joined Porto from Jagiellonia Białystok. The photo in this article shows him still in the Białystok club's colours.
