Up to 19,000 zloty towards a home battery: applications open on 20 October

On Tuesday 20 October Poland's national environmental fund opens applications for the second round of its home energy storage programme. Homeowners with solar panels can get up to PLN 19,000.

The "Home Energy Storage, part 2" programme is run by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW). It is aimed at prosumers: people whose homes have grid-connected solar panels. The budget is PLN 1 billion, and applications can be filed from 20 October 2026 to 1 October 2027.

How much you can get

For an electricity storage unit the programme covers 30% of costs, up to PLN 800 per kWh of capacity. The cap is PLN 16,000 for households on net-billing and PLN 8,000 for those on the older net-metering scheme. On top of that there is up to PLN 1,000 for heat storage and up to PLN 2,000 for a hybrid inverter. In total, one metering point can receive up to PLN 19,000.

Conditions

The battery must hold at least 10 kWh, and a heat store at least 100 litres. An energy management system (EMS) and island mode, which keeps the house powered during a grid outage, are required. Costs incurred since 1 November 2025 can be claimed.

"Equipping home solar installations with energy storage is one of our priorities," says Climate Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska. The Gramwzielone portal expects that the allocation will very probably run out before the deadline.
