38 days before GTA 6 launches, a hacker threatens to leak the whole game

A hacker calling himself CyberLeek claims to have a playable build of GTA 6 "from start to finish" and threatens to publish it. In October he has already released about 25 minutes of footage. Rockstar is silent.

On 10 October GRY-OnLine, citing Insider Gaming, reported that CyberLeek was threatening to release an entire playable build of GTA 6. The hacker has set a financial condition and says Take-Two can avoid the leak by apologising for the game not being released on disc. We are deliberately not giving details or links. It is also unconfirmed that GTA 6 will have no disc release.

A string of leaks

The leaks began on 18 August. On 8 October a ZIP archive of more than 370 MB with about 25 minutes of gameplay appeared online. GRY-OnLine says it is probably an old development build, which is why it shows a first-person view. On 11 October the hacker posted another clip and polls about the next leak. According to Dexerto, Take-Two has gone to court to force platforms to identify the leaker and describes the investigation as "rapidly evolving".

Release date unchanged

GTA 6 is due on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a PC version reportedly about a year later. Rockstar has not responded to the October footage, and no one has independently confirmed it is genuine.
