Economics Nobel, inflation and wages. The calendar for 12–19 October
The coming week brings the economics Nobel announcement and detailed inflation data, among other events. Here are the key dates for the economy and the stock market.
The week opens with science. On Monday 12 October the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel will be announced. According to nobelprize.org, the announcement will come no earlier than 11:45.
GUS data
On Tuesday 13 October GUS will publish foreign trade data for January–August. On Thursday 15 October the statistics office will release detailed September CPI inflation data. According to the flash estimate, inflation stood at 4.0%. That is above the upper limit of the NBP target of 3.5%. Fuel prices rose 36.1% year on year. On Monday 19 October GUS will publish September data on wages and industrial production.

On Wednesday 14 October PKO BP holds an extraordinary general meeting on changes to its articles of association. Alior has scheduled an extraordinary general meeting for Tuesday 20 October. On the same day the series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2”, set in the world of CD Projekt's game, premieres on Netflix.
Central banks
Towards the end of the month attention shifts to central banks. The Fed meets on 27–28 October and the ECB on 28–29 October. The MPC meets on 3–4 November. Finwire cautions: “Publication dates may change.”
